Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) such as witnessing violence, experiencing neglect or abuse, or losing a caregiver have been shown to have long term impacts on education attainment, mental health, substance use, health status and longevity. ASR has helped assess and evaluate recent ACEs Aware grants from the state of California and has helped assess and evaluate mental health services act (MHSA) efforts at the county and state level.
