Applied
Survey Research conducts groundbreaking research in the study of
homeless populations, including innovative enumerations and needs
assessments. Enumerations include an intensive street count integrated
with data from shelters, other service providers, and other sources
in order to generate a revealing census of homeless persons. Needs
assessments include a thorough survey instrument administered with
the assistance of homeless persons themselves, resulting in comprehensive
data with significant representation from the homeless population.
ASR’s methodology and data collection instruments were cited as a "best practice" in The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s October 2004 handbook: A Guide to Counting Unsheltered Homeless People.
ASR
has completed several homeless projects, including:
We invite interest from communities
that wish to study their local homeless populations through the
efficient use of cutting-edge data collection strategies.
